Let’s take a deep dive into the current bourbon prices at Buffalo Trace Distillery, comparing them to inflation-adjusted prices over the past five years to see how much more (or less) you’re really paying today. With Blanton’s, E.H. Taylor Jr. Small Batch, and Eagle Rare experiencing price hikes at the distillery in both August 2024 and 2025, we analyze whether these bourbons still offer good value or if your money is better spent elsewhere. By breaking down real pricing against inflation, we highlight which bottles remain the best buys and which ones may no longer be worth the splurge.
Blanton’s Single Barrel

- Distillery Price (02/16/25): $74.99

Final Verdict: Best Value Bourbon of 2025
Eagle Rare emerged as the clear winner in terms of value and quality, as its price increase remains reasonable relative to inflation. However, we can’t be sure how long this low price will last, so now may be the perfect time to grab a bottle!
Buffalo Trace Bourbon, W.L. Weller Special Reserve, and Sazerac Rye have defied inflation and kept their prices steady, making them excellent choices for those looking for high quality without overpaying.
For those looking for premium bottles, Blanton’s is still selling for below inflationary pricing, but the rising price may make it less attractive from a pure value standpoint.
E.H. Taylor Jr., Small Batch stands out as the least favorable deal, with its price jumping from $43 in 2020 to $59.99 in 2025—well above inflation. While it remains a respected bourbon, the added cost may leave budget-conscious buyers looking elsewhere for better value.
No matter what your budget is, understanding price trends can help you make the best purchasing decisions. Cheers to finding the best bourbon for your money in 2025!

These prices are ridiculous, for the life of me I can not justify paying them.
Not even $27 for buffalo trace?
Nope. Outside of a tour, going to be skipping all basic BT products from now on.
Curious, what are you going to buy for less than $27.00?
Wild Turkey 101, early times Bottle n bond, old granddad 114, Kirkland small batch, benchmark (forgot this was a bt product as well) just to name a few
“If you can find it at retail, this is an excellent deal.” Ha! I’ve not seen any of BT’s premium bourbons on a retail shelf for many years. When the bourbon craze began, most other brands ramped up production while BT sat on their hands. It took their parent company, Sazerac, to insist they increase production (which began in 2015) and by then, BT’s good stuff was long gone. 25 years ago, Elmer T. Lee bourbon was on every retailers shelf for $27 and now, I’ve seen it on the aftermarket for $400. The same with Weller 107 and 12 year old. This is all due to the leadership at BT having no vision. Since supply has dried up, I’ve bought many other brands & have discovered a few that agree with my palate. If BT ever gets around to again bottling the good stuff, I may not ever buy it again.
The products are out there at MSRP for those who are patient. I have Blanton’s still sitting in the backseat of my car that I snagged last week for $66 after tax … Eagle Rare at $36. In the last three months I’ve found EHT small batch under $50 … Weller special reserve under $30 for a 750, $46 for a 1.75 … EHT Straight Rye for $78 … Stagg JR for $69.
Walmart … Publix … Specs …
When stores mark those pours up too much there are plenty of other options without the exorbitant prices.
Hard to be patient in a state where grocery stores, walmarts, costcos, etc. are not allowed to sell alcohol at all. All you’re left with is greedy liquor store owners who jack up the prices to 60% or more above MSRP.
