New Daily Sip or Exclusive Allocated Bottle: Will Traveller Whiskey Grace Buffalo Trace Distillery Shelves This Year?

TRAVELLER WHISKEY – BLENDED WHISKEY

Amidst the recent announcement of Traveller Whiskey, there’s anticipation brewing about the possibility of this distinctive blend gracing the shelves at Buffalo Trace Distillery this year. Could we soon witness the arrival of Traveller Whiskey as a new daily option or an allocated bottle?

Traveller Whiskey signifies a groundbreaking collaboration from Buffalo Trace Distillery, uniting the combined artistry of 8X Grammy Award-Winning Artist Chris Stapleton and Buffalo Trace Distillery Master Distiller, Harlen Wheatley.

Front Label

The front label displays a map on the bottle that appears to be an image from the John Filson Map of Kentucky from 1784. John Filson (1747 – 1788) was an American author, historian of Kentucky, pioneer, surveyor and one of the founders of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Cost

In the pursuit of crafting the ultimate whiskey, a rigorous process unfolded involving the sampling of over 50 blends. This exhaustive exploration culminated in the selection of Blend No. 40, meticulously curated through extensive testing and tasting. Blend No. 40 epitomizes exceptional quality and artisanal craftsmanship, boasting a compelling value with an approximate retail price of $39.99.

Age Statement

Traveller Whiskey’s age remains undisclosed, though with no visible age statement on the label it’s assumed to exceed 4 years. Bottled at a modest 90 proof, aligning perfectly with the proofs found in the distillery’s esteemed lineup such as Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Eagle Rare, and Weller Special Reserve.

Mashbill

Traveller Whiskey’s mashbill remains undisclosed, but is classified as a blended whiskey implying the possibility of containing less than 51% corn or aged in used barrels.

Distribution

Traveller Whiskey is set to hit the shelves in 750ML bottles. There are only two notable countries (the US and India) which have historically used 750ml, ensuring availability throughout the United States. (European countries and most other countries around the world, the 700ml is the standard global bottle size for distilled spirits.)

TASTING NOTES

Prepare for a symphony of complex aromas featuring vanilla, aged fruit, and buttery shortbread, complemented by hints of caramel and oak. The palate presents a delicate sweetness transitioning seamlessly into a medley of spice, toasted nut, and oak flavors, culminating in a robust and satisfying finish.

  1. Please make Traveller Whiskey available in Florida on shelves. Don’t make it an another allocated brand!

    1. i’m in kentucky i understand i was out west and had some Chris Ledoux bourbon i would love to see it out here can’t find it

      1. I’m in Orangeburg, SC. The Crown Spirits on St. Matthews Rd was fully stocked as of today.

  2. I would love to see Traveler available in Alabama but I know that’s only possible if the crooked politicians in Montgomery can figure out how to line their pockets with a portion.

  3. It’s “blended whiskey”, got it, tasted it, and dumped it. To each their own, but wasn’t my thing at all with so many better whiskeys out there.

  4. I bought a bottle yesterday 1/24/24 at Total Wine in Bee Cave, Texas (just outside of Austin)
