Buffalo Trace Set for Major Upgrade With New Bourbon Experience

Big changes could be coming to Buffalo Trace Distillery according to the Herald Leader.

It seems Buffalo Trace is planning its next big move and it could be a game changer for bourbon fans.

Newly released details show the distillery is preparing a nearly $60 million expansion project called Project Cardinal, centered around a new hand bottling craft distillery and immersive tour experience. The goal is to connect visitors with the historic roots of whiskey making while giving guests a closer look at the craftsmanship behind every bottle. The project is slated to begin development in mid 2026 with completion targeted for December 2028. Plans also include infrastructure upgrades, improved accessibility, and new guest experience additions as Buffalo Trace pushes toward welcoming more than 1 million visitors each year.
