September brought a jump in special release activity at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, giving bourbon hunters plenty of reasons to watch October closely.

Buffalo Trace released allocated bottles on more days in September than in August, including Cured Oak, Blanton’s Gold, Weller Single Barrel, Weller C.Y.P.B., Kosher releases and Blanton’s Straight From the Barrel.
But recent trends suggest the way bottles are being released may be changing. Some drops have featured fewer bottles, with morning releases downstairs followed by additional bottles upstairs later in the afternoon.
