2026 Pappy Van Winkle Collection: All 6 Bottles, Prices and the History Behind the Label
Buffalo Trace confirms the complete 2026 Van Winkle whiskey lineup, featuring six expressions aged 10 to 23 years with suggested retail prices from $169.99 to $499.99.
The 2026 Pappy Van Winkle Collection is officially on its way. Buffalo Trace Distillery and the Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery have confirmed the return of all six expressions, including Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 15, 20 and 23 Year bourbons.
Announced September 11, the annual collection will reach retailers, bars and restaurants across the United States in limited quantities through Sazerac’s distribution network. The lineup remains largely unchanged from the collection established in 2004.
2026 Pappy Van Winkle Lineup and Retail Prices
The 2026 release features five bourbons and one rye whiskey. Here are all six bottles and their official suggested retail prices before applicable taxes and fees.
| 2026 Van Winkle Bottle | Age | MSRP |
|---|---|---|
| Old Rip Van Winkle Handmade Bourbon | 10 Years | $169.99 |
| Van Winkle Special Reserve Bourbon “Lot B” | 12 Years | $199.99 |
| Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye | 13 Years | $299.99 |
| Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 15 Year Bourbon | 15 Years | $299.99 |
| Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 20 Year Bourbon | 20 Years | $399.99 |
| Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 23 Year Bourbon | 23 Years | $499.99 |
These are manufacturer-suggested prices, not guaranteed shelf prices. Individual retailers determine their own pricing, and limited allocations can make bottles difficult to find at MSRP.
The History Behind Pappy Van Winkle’s Famous Cigar Label
The portrait of Julian P. “Pappy” Van Winkle Sr. smoking his cigar has become one of bourbon’s most recognizable bottle labels. It first appeared on the 20-year Family Reserve bourbon in 1994, beginning a three-bottle series that would take another decade to complete.
Julian Van Winkle III launched the first Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve bourbon in distinctive light green glass, featuring his grandfather’s cigar-smoking portrait. The whiskey later received a celebrated 99-point rating, helping introduce the brand to a wider audience.
The family introduced a 23-year expression, extending the lineup into exceptionally aged Kentucky bourbon. Early bottles also featured green glass and the familiar cigar portrait.
Previously bottled as Old Rip Van Winkle 15 Year beginning in 1989, the bourbon joined the Pappy Family Reserve line in 2004, completing the familiar 15-, 20- and 23-year trio.
Those three cigar-label bourbons remain the centerpiece of the Pappy Van Winkle name, while the 10-year, 12-year and 13-year rye expressions complete the broader Van Winkle Collection.
Why Each Year’s Pappy Van Winkle Release Is Different
Although the six expressions return annually, the whiskey comes from different barrels each year. The Van Winkle family and Buffalo Trace Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley select barrels that meet the standards for each expression. Differences in maturation and barrel characteristics mean no two annual releases are exactly alike.
A Warning for Pappy Van Winkle Buyers
The Van Winkle family cautions consumers about counterfeit bottles and fraudulent whiskey sales. Buyers should purchase through licensed retailers and avoid questionable online listings or unregulated secondary markets. Anyone who suspects a bottle is counterfeit should not consume it.

Buffalo Trace Visitors May Face Larger Crowds November 9–15 During Special Weller Experience
Seven days of scheduled Weller bourbon experiences could increase visitor traffic at Buffalo Trace Distillery. Here’s what to know before making the trip to Frankfort.
Visitors heading to Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, November 9–15, 2026, should consider allowing extra time. A week of special Weller bourbon experiences is scheduled alongside the distillery’s regular visitor activities, potentially adding to crowds around the campus.
The Weller Experience: Generations in the Making is a 90-minute guided event exploring the history of William Larue Weller and the wheated bourbon tradition. Sessions are listed daily at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
What Is the Weller Experience at Buffalo Trace?
The event takes guests through the story of William Larue Weller, whose decision to use wheat instead of rye helped define the Weller bourbon tradition. The experience begins with a sensory comparison of the two grains, followed by guided tastings of select Weller expressions that demonstrate the influence of grain, age and proof.
Guests then travel through the distillery to Warehouse P, where they learn how the wheated bourbon recipe continues today. The program also explores the history of Weller’s green ink thumbprint, with a hands-on opportunity for visitors to leave their own mark.
The experience concludes in the Weller Room with a final tasting, a surprise pour and a Weller-themed takeaway commemorating the visit.

Will Buffalo Trace Be Busier November 9–15?
The additional sessions could bring more guests to the distillery, particularly around the late-morning and early-afternoon arrival periods. However, Buffalo Trace has not announced attendance figures for these sessions, so the extent of any increase remains unknown.
Visitors should plan accordingly. Buffalo Trace recommends arriving 20–30 minutes before a reserved tour, or 45–60 minutes early if they intend to shop first. Parking is limited, and the distillery recommends carpooling when possible.
Does the Weller Experience Include Special Bottles?
No. The event description explicitly states that special bottles will not be available for purchase as part of the experience. The surprise pour is a tasting component, not a bottle-release announcement.
Regular gift shop offerings are separate from the event and remain subject to Buffalo Trace’s daily availability and purchasing limits. Bourbon hunters should check the distillery’s official product availability page rather than assuming a special Weller release will accompany the sessions.

Buffalo Trace November Bourbon Forecast: Five Bottles, 30 Days of Data and What Comes Next
E.H. Taylor and Single Oak Rye posted perfect 30-day release records. Blanton’s and Weller Antique 107 stayed hot, while Eagle Rare remained the wild card. Here’s the November outlook based on the latest gift shop tracking.
November’s bourbon forecast is looking unusually favorable for visitors hoping to find an allocated bottle at Buffalo Trace Distillery. The latest 30-day release records show two expressions appearing every day, two more appearing on more than 85% of tracked dates and one remaining considerably less predictable.
Buffalo Trace Daily reviewed the release calendars from September 30 through October 29, 2026, covering Blanton’s Single Barrel, E.H. Taylor Jr. Small Batch, Eagle Rare, Weller Antique 107 and Single Oak Rye Bourbon. Together, these five bottles accounted for 121 release-day appearances across the 30-day period.
The 30-Day Bourbon Release Report Card
The table below measures each bottle’s total release days, percentage of the 30-day window, median and average gap between release dates and current consecutive-day streak.
| Bottle | 30-Day Total | Release % | Median Gap | Avg. Gap | Current Streak |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| E.H. Taylor Small Batch | 30 | 100% | 1 day | 1.00 days | 30 days |
| Single Oak Rye Bourbon | 30 | 100% | 1 day | 1.00 days | 30 days |
| Blanton’s Single Barrel | 27 | 90% | 1 day | 1.12 days | 16 days |
| Weller Antique 107 | 26 | 86.7% | 1 day | 1.12 days | 0 days |
| Eagle Rare | 8 | 26.7% | 3 days | 3.43 days | 0 days |
Methodology: The 30-day window runs from September 30 through October 29, inclusive. Release percentages use all 30 tracked dates. Gaps measure calendar days between consecutive releases, not the number of days without a release. Current streaks end October 29. Release appearances do not indicate bottle quantities or inventory duration.
November 2026 Allocated Bourbon Forecast
The following charts show the percentage of tracked dates each bottle was released during the past 30 days. These historical release rates provide a starting point for November’s outlook, although actual availability will depend on inventory and allocation decisions.
E.H. Taylor Jr. Small Batch
A perfect 30-for-30 record and a 30-day active streak make E.H. Taylor one of the strongest November candidates. Expect frequent appearances if the current allocation pattern continues.
Single Oak Rye Bourbon
Single Oak Rye matched E.H. Taylor with releases on every tracked date. The November outlook favors continued regular availability, although the uninterrupted run could change if inventory or allocation shifts.
Blanton’s Single Barrel
Blanton’s appeared on 27 of 30 days, finishing October 29 with a 16-day streak. Its recent consistency suggests a strong chance of frequent November releases, with occasional breaks still possible.
Weller Antique 107
Weller Antique 107 appeared on 26 of 30 days, but its run was interrupted on October 27 and October 29. The outlook remains favorable, though a perfect daily streak should not be assumed.
Eagle Rare
Eight appearances in 30 days and an average 3.43-day interval make Eagle Rare the least frequent of the five. Expect scattered opportunities rather than daily availability, with timing remaining difficult to predict.
What the October Numbers Suggest for November
The most significant trend is not simply that allocated bourbon has become more frequent. It is the consistency of several expressions appearing within the same tracking window. E.H. Taylor and Single Oak Rye each maintained a daily release record, while Blanton’s and Weller Antique 107 were absent on relatively few dates.
Eagle Rare presents a different picture. Its eight release dates were October 2, 5, 7, 11, 14, 21, 25 and 26. The intervals ranged from one to seven days, making it a much less predictable option for visitors planning around a particular bottle.
Best outlook: E.H. Taylor Small Batch and Single Oak Rye. Both enter November with uninterrupted 30-day release histories.
Strong outlook: Blanton’s and Weller Antique 107. Recent frequency favors regular appearances, but some breaks remain possible.
Most uncertain: Eagle Rare. Its release pattern calls for patience and a closer watch on the daily tracker.
The November Holiday Factor
November’s calendar also includes Thanksgiving, when the Buffalo Trace gift shop is closed. That closure reduces the number of possible release dates and should not be interpreted as an interruption in a bottle’s normal availability.
The recent 30-day percentages provide a useful picture of release frequency, but they are not guaranteed daily odds. Supply decisions, gift shop inventory and special events could all influence the November schedule.

Sazerac Introduces New 125-Proof Version of Popular 1792 Sweet Wheat Bourbon
Barton 1792 Distillery is expanding its wheated bourbon lineup with a new full-proof expression that delivers substantially more strength than the original Sweet Wheat. The November release will initially reach five states.
Sazerac is introducing a higher-proof counterpart to its popular 1792 Sweet Wheat Bourbon with the November 2026 launch of 1792 Wheated Full Proof, a new 125-proof Kentucky straight bourbon produced at Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky.
Announced October 28, the new expression builds on the original Sweet Wheat, introduced in 2015. Both use wheat instead of the rye traditionally found in many bourbon recipes, but Wheated Full Proof is bottled at a significantly higher strength.
The existing 1792 Sweet Wheat is listed at 93.7 proof on the brand’s official website. At 125 proof, the new expression is 31.3 proof points stronger, offering a more intense take on the bourbon’s established flavor profile.
1792 Sweet Wheat Gets a Full-Proof Counterpart
Barton 1792 Distillery describes Wheated Full Proof as an extension of the original Sweet Wheat’s character, preserving its sweetness while delivering greater depth, richness and flavor intensity.
The new bourbon is bottled at 125 proof, matching the whiskey’s original barrel-entry proof. That differs from barrel proof, which generally refers to the whiskey’s strength when it leaves the barrel.
Proof comparison uses the 93.7-proof figure displayed on the official 1792 Sweet Wheat website. Some state liquor listings identify Sweet Wheat as 91.2 proof. The new Wheated Full Proof is confirmed at 125 proof.

How Will Wheated Full Proof Compare With Sweet Wheat?
The original 1792 Sweet Wheat is known for its softer flavor profile, with the distillery describing notes of vanilla, caramel, white oak tannins and dried fruit.
The new Wheated Full Proof is expected to retain those characteristics while delivering a fuller body and more concentrated flavors.
According to Barton 1792 Distillery, Wheated Full Proof opens with aromas of soft caramel, dried honey, ripe apricot, vanilla and sweet oak. The palate features honeyed caramel, ripe stone fruit, subtle tropical notes and balanced oak tannins.
The distillery describes the finish as long and warm, with lingering caramelized sugar, oak and sweetness.
Sweet Wheat’s Award-Winning History
Since its introduction in 2015, 1792 Sweet Wheat has developed a following among fans of wheated bourbon and collected several spirits competition awards.
According to Barton 1792, the expression earned Double Gold at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Gold at the 2025 International Wine & Spirit Competition and Gold at the 2026 Denver International Spirits Competition.
The new Wheated Full Proof joins a 1792 portfolio that also includes Small Batch, Single Barrel, Bottled in Bond, Full Proof and Aged Twelve Years. It is a separate wheated expression from the brand’s existing Full Proof bourbon.
Where Will the New Bourbon Be Available?
Barton 1792 Distillery confirmed that Wheated Full Proof will begin reaching retailers in November 2026 in California, Texas, New York, Florida and Illinois.
The bourbon will initially be sold in 375 mL bottles with a suggested retail price of $39.99. That is equivalent to approximately $79.98 for 750 mL.
Kentucky is not among the five states announced for the initial rollout. The distillery has not announced a specific November release date or confirmed when additional markets might receive the new expression.
New bourbon: 1792 Wheated Full Proof. Proof: 125. MSRP: $39.99 for 375 mL.
Initial distribution: California, Texas, New York, Florida and Illinois. A specific launch date has not been announced.
A New Addition to Sazerac’s Bourbon Portfolio
Both Sweet Wheat and Wheated Full Proof are distilled and aged at Barton 1792 Distillery, which was established in 1879. The Bardstown facility is part of the Sazerac Company, which also owns Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort.
The new release expands Sazerac’s selection of wheated bourbon expressions while introducing a higher-proof counterpart to one of 1792’s established limited edition offerings.

Buffalo Trace Daily’s Six Highest-Odds Days Delivered Special Releases 67% of the Time
Both of October’s two highest-ranked dates produced special bourbon releases, while four of the top six delivered. Here’s how the predictions performed despite an unexpected Elmer T. Lee pickup-window pause.
How useful were Buffalo Trace Daily’s October special-release odds? The results provide an encouraging answer. Both of the two highest-ranked dates produced special bourbon releases, delivering a 100% hit rate. Looking at the six highest-ranked dates, four produced special releases, a 66.7% hit rate. Even with an unexpected interruption during the Elmer T. Lee anniversary pickup window, the model’s strongest predictions delivered impressive results.
Those six dates represented a small, carefully ranked portion of the calendar, not a promise that any particular bottle would appear. They nevertheless accounted for four of the nine dates with recorded special-release activity in the October results reviewed by Buffalo Trace Daily.
The results were even more impressive at the very top of Buffalo Trace Daily’s October rankings. Both of the two highest-odds dates produced special bourbon releases, giving the model a 100% hit rate on its two strongest-ranked days. Expanding the comparison to the six highest-ranked dates, four produced releases, delivering a 66.7% hit rate. Although the top-two result represents a small sample, it provides another encouraging example of how the premium odds helped identify promising opportunities.
The Top Six Outperformed the Rest of October
The difference becomes clearer when the six highest-ranked dates are compared with the remaining 23 dates in the review. Special releases were recorded on four of the top six, compared with five of the other 23. That works out to an observed release rate of 66.7% for the top-ranked group versus 21.7% for the rest of the calendar.
These percentages show how often a recorded release occurred within each group. The top two dates are included within the top six, rather than representing a separate group. These are actual results, not the model’s confidential daily predicted odds.
In other words, the top six dates had roughly three times the observed special-release rate of the other dates reviewed. That is a promising result for a service designed to help subscribers identify stronger opportunities rather than guess at random.
What Could Visitors Have Taken Home on the Six Highest-Odds Days?
The highest-ranked dates that delivered special-release activity included several sought-after expressions. Buffalo Trace Daily is sharing the bottle names below while keeping the exact release dates, daily probabilities and detailed timing information reserved for premium subscribers.
E.H. Taylor Jr. Four Grain
One of the more sought-after E.H. Taylor expressions was among the special releases recorded on the highest-ranked dates.
Weller Full Proof
This popular higher-proof wheated bourbon appeared during the top-six group, including repeat activity.
Cured Oak
Another notable special release appeared on one of the model’s strongest-ranked dates, adding to the month’s opportunities.
Kosher Rye
This release was recorded upstairs, illustrating how some special bottles were available outside the standard morning gift shop release.
Other Special Bourbons Released During October
October’s special-release activity extended beyond the six highest-ranked dates. Visitors also had opportunities to find other allocated bourbons and limited releases throughout the month. These additional bottles demonstrate why Buffalo Trace Daily tracks the entire release calendar rather than concentrating exclusively on its highest-probability days.
Weller 12 Year
A highly sought-after aged wheated bourbon that remains a favorite among collectors and Buffalo Trace visitors.
Rock Hill Farms
A single-barrel bourbon that gives visitors another reason to watch for unexpected special-release opportunities.
Kosher Wheat
Another expression from Buffalo Trace’s Kosher whiskey collection appeared during the month’s special releases.
Additional Kosher Releases
Other Kosher whiskey offerings added variety to the October release calendar, including limited upstairs availability.
Taken together, October’s special releases offered bourbon hunters an impressive range of possibilities, from Weller and E.H. Taylor expressions to Rock Hill Farms, Cured Oak and Kosher whiskeys. Availability and quantities varied, and not every release was available to every visitor.
Buffalo Trace Daily is sharing the bottle names and overall results publicly while keeping individual release dates, predicted percentages and detailed calendar information exclusive to premium subscribers.
An Unexpected Elmer T. Lee Pickup Window
October also presented a challenge the forecasting model could not have anticipated. Buffalo Trace Distillery’s pickup window for the Elmer T. Lee 40th Anniversary Single Barrel Bourbon ran from September 28 through October 11. Buffalo Trace Daily did not know in advance that special releases would be absent during that period.
Because the model relied on historical patterns, it continued assigning daily probabilities while the distillery’s actual release activity remained quiet. Once that window passed, releases resumed. The interruption provides useful context for the month’s results and highlights the role that unusual distillery operations can play in short-term release activity.
Despite an unexpected early-month pause, both of the two highest-ranked dates produced special releases, and the six highest-ranked dates recorded a 66.7% hit rate compared with 21.7% for the remaining dates. The model did not predict every release, but its highest-ranked group delivered a noticeably stronger observed result.
What the Results Mean for November
October’s comparison supports the value of ranking potential release dates by relative opportunity. It also reinforces why Buffalo Trace Daily evaluates new results alongside historical trends rather than treating any forecast as a fixed schedule. November’s analysis will incorporate the latest release activity and known calendar considerations, including the Thanksgiving closure.
Premium subscribers receive the detailed November calendar, including date-specific probability estimates and the supporting notes behind those rankings. The public review shares the overall results, while the information that helps subscribers compare individual days remains part of the paid service.
November’s Special Release Odds Are Available
See the complete November special-release probability calendar, daily rankings and exclusive release analysis for $7.99 per year. Use the same data-driven approach that identified October’s strongest-performing group of dates.
Explore Premium Special Release OddsMethodology: Review covers October 1–29, 2026. The highest predicted-probability dates were selected before comparing them with recorded outcomes. Both of the top two dates had a special release, as did four of the top six. Five of the other 23 dates also had a release. A release date is counted once even if multiple bottles appeared. The 100% and 66.7% figures are observed hit rates for small samples, not measures of forecast calibration or guarantees of future results. Upstairs releases are identified separately from standard gift shop drops.
